As a single vacation destination the size of a large city, Walt Disney World is an amazing place to visit! There is an overwhelming amount of things to see and do and explore so for my contribution to the Disney Friends Blog Hop, I want to talk about one of my favourite shopping destinations, and one I highly suggest checking out, the Marketplace Co-Op.

Located in the Marketplace area at the east end of Disney Springs between Ghirardelli’s and Once Upon a Toy , the Marketplace Co-Op was originally created to be a showcase of various pop-up shops. It opened in the summer of 2014 with six different shops which have changed over the years. Each of these shops is partitioned separately from the others but are not completely enclosed as their own store. Guests are able to shop around at the different locations and then can pay at any of the registers throughout the Marketplace Co-Op.

One of the main reasons the Marketplace Co-Op is one of my favourite places to shop in all of Walt Disney World is because it focuses on merchandise for the adult Disney fan. The merchandise also tends to shy away from the typical souvenir t-shirts, pins, and ears found in multiple locations throughout the parks and resorts, offering something more unique to commemorate a Disney trip.

Currently there are seven plus one shops in the Marketplace Co-Op (I’ll include a bonus shop; keep reading to find out which one!)

WonderGround Gallery

Offering beautiful and creative artwork of various styles and prices, WonderGround Gallery is the place to go to find something fun to decorate your home with. WonderGround Gallery not only features canvas paintings of all sizes, but prints and postcards of beloved characters and parks attractions are also sold. Other unique items featuring the artwork can be found here such as notebooks and magnets.

D-Tech on Demand

Specializing in personalized phone cases, it is quite possible to spend a good chunk of time browsing through the numerous designs on the touch screens at D-Tech on Demand. Magic Bands can also be purchased and personalized here. D-Tech offers other tech accessories such as chargers, headphones, iPad and laptop cases.

Disney Tails

The newest addition to the Marketplace Co-Op features one of my favourite Disney merchandise lines. Disney Tails is perfect for guests to bring home something special for their favourite furry friend. There is something for both cat and dog lovers and Disney Tails sells collars, harnesses, toys, food dishes, and even beds for all sizes of pets. I love the cute bandanas that are sold here which currently are offered in five different sets: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Star Wars light side, Star Wars dark side, and Haunted Mansion. I hope Disney makes more attraction themed ones!

Bowes Signature Candles

Right in the centre of the Marketplace Co-Op is Bowes Signature Candles. Asides from a variety of scented candles, Bowes also sells essential oils, burners, travel tins, and wax melts. The candles are locally made in Orlando and Bowes even occasionally offers candle making classes.

Disney Centerpiece

This kitchen and home décor store sells some of the cutest yet classiest items I have seen at Walt Disney World. Everything from plates and glasses to throw pillows and tea towels can be found here. Many of the items fit together with a common theme, though are generally sold separately. Themes tend to be a certain Disney films (Beauty and the Beast is a very popular one) or an attraction or land.

Cherry Tree Lane

This shop is my absolute favourite in the Marketplace Co-Op! I love all of these Dress Shop dresses; I may or may not own three of them! Cherry Tree Lane is a cute reference to the street the Banks live on in Mary Poppins. I have written an entire post about the Dress Shop so make sure to check it out!

Twenty-Eight & Main

To compliment Cherry Tree Lane, Twenty-Eight & Main sells men’s clothing. The reference to this street is the year Mickey Mouse debuted in Steamboat Willie as well as Main Street, U.S.A. There are a lot of t-shirts sold at Twenty-Eight & Main, but the shop also sells accessories such as fun socks, ties, belts and wallets.

Tren-D

I am including Tren-D as a bonus because it is not an official part of the Marketplace Co-Op lineup of pop-up shops, but it is connected to the others in the same building. Tren-D is also one of my favourite stores! It sells a variety of adult clothing, but these items tend to be on the more fashionable side than the average theme park t-shirt. Tren-D generally sells a lot of ladies merchandise inspired by Minnie Mouse and the Disney princesses. This corner of the Marketplace Co-Op has the most fitting rooms and items from the other shops, such as Cherry Tree Lane, can be brought over to try them on here.

That’s it for my quick tour of the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs! Which shop inside is your favourite?

Pin for later!

  2. Thanks for this! I wondered what the marketplace was on th map but have not had the chance to check it out. I will make sure to add it to my plans.

  3. Love the Marketplace and specifically the Dress Shop. You are right. Great way to find merch that isn’t the same cookie cutter stuff that’s in every other store.
