My Disney Bucket List

Welcome to another Disney Friends Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Disney Bucket List Items. Once you’ve finished reading this post, click on the next button at the bottom of the page to make your way through the loop.

This would’ve been a very short, and cheesy, post if I’d just written Everything! and left it at that, though there’s a lot of truth to it. There is always something new and exciting to experience across the Disney Parks and Resorts, and I would love to do it all one day.

So here is a list of the items that are at the very top of my Disney Bucket List. And as a bonus, I’ve also included things I’ve already been fortunate enough to cross off my list. So, in no particular order:

Go on a Disney Cruise

I don’t have a specific destination in mind, or even a specific ship, but I would love to take a Disney Cruise one day. A sub-bucket list item here would be to eat at the Animator’s Palate restaurant which is currently available on all four cruise ships. I’m not sure if it will be included in the future ships as well, but I love the unique atmosphere this restaurant creates.

Stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

No trip to Walt Disney World is complete without dining at ‘Ohana, but to actually stay at the Polynesian Resort would be wonderful. The monorail station there is currently undergoing a refurbishment, but the concept art of the completed project looks fantastic.

Dine at Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

This one might be the most easily obtainable item on my list, so hopefully on my next Disneyland trip I can cross it off. (Hopefully my husband is reading this, hint hint.) I’ve been inside the restaurant on the Art of the Craft tour, and it’s beautiful. So much work went into every little detail of this restaurant including Napa Rose having its own signature rose to place on every table. The rose was specially grown to have no scent as to not interfere with the smells of the food.

Attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

The Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party looks like one of the most magical things any Disney fan could do around Christmas. I’d love to see the parade and the snow on Main Street. And drink a ridiculous amount of hot chocolate and apple cider that is included with the tickets. This party takes place exclusively in the Magic Kingdom.

Stay at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel in a Character Room

Did you know the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel goes all out with the theming of some of their special rooms? Their character rooms include Tinker Bell, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast. And they all look adorable. I don’t even know which one I would pick.

See Walt’s Apartment

Walt Disney had a private apartment above the fire department on Main Street in Disneyland, and guests can take a peek inside on special tours. The lamp in the window is always on to represent Walt’s spirit in the park, and I thank him for the magic at the end of each day in Disneyland. I’d love to be able to see that lamp up close.

Rent DVC Points

I’m intrigued by the Disney Vacation Club and think renting DVC points would be a great way to test it out, especially with the recent announcement of the Disneyland Hotel building a DVC tower. I’d love to stay there, or maybe combine this bucket list item with staying at the Polynesian Resort and check them both off.

Return to Tokyo Disneyland for the Newly Opened Beauty and the Beast Themed Area

A Beauty and the Beast area opened as part of Fantasyland in Tokyo Disneyland this past fall, and it looks amazing! When we were there in September of 2019, the walkways were open through this area, though the buildings were all hidden behind shrubs, so we got a sneak peek. There is an amazing looking trackless dark ride here called Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast.

Monorail Resort Hop during Christmas Time

I would love to take the resort monorail around to the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian Resorts during Christmas time to check out all the decorations, especially the tress. According to Disney parks, the Christmas tree at the Contemporary is 70 feet tall! I’d also love to see the famous giant gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian.

Go on the Hollywood & Disneyland Tour by Adventures by Disney

This tour is pretty expensive in my opinion, so right now it’s definitely just a dream. But it sounds like the ultimate Disney fan bucket list item to me. In Hollywood, it includes touring the Walt Disney Studios and Archives, Jim Henson Company Lot, and Walt Disney Imagineering. Over at Disneyland, it includes a stay at the Grand Californian, priority entrance into the parks, backstage tours, and VIP viewing of the parade, fireworks, and World of Color.

Disney Bucket List Items I’ve Crossed Off:

Stay at All Three Disneyland Hotels

Visit Every Disney Park Around the World

Do a Tour at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World (I’ve done both)

Stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Visit the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco

Watch Every Disney Animated Movie in Order of Release (which I did for this blog series)

I’d love to hear some of the items on your Disney bucket list! Drop them below in the comments!

    • 😆 According to “Decorating Disney Holiday Magic” on Disney+, the gingerbread is actually baked 6 months in advance…😬

  1. What a fantastic list!
I would love to go to all the parks, go on a cruise, stay at Poly and Boardwalk, attend every Epcot festival, and experience a Disney Park at Christmas

  2. This was one of my favorite hops as well. I think it helps that we are all so giddy about the parks and we would all DEFINITELY use some giddiness these days. I’d love to go on that specific Adventures by Disney trip someday as well. I secretly want my kid to be an Imagineer so I could always use the trip to nudge him a little!

    • It sounds like an amazing tour! I saw the group checking into the Grand Californian once and was a little jealous!
