Biergarten Restaurant

Biergarten Restaurant is an all-you-care-to-enjoy table service restaurant located in Epcot’s Germany pavilion where it is Oktoberfest all year round. It is open for lunch and dinner and features a delicious buffet line of German favourites. This restaurant is nestled in the very back of the pavilion and is located near Sommerfest, Germany’s quick service restaurant.

The atmosphere of Biergarten is quite unique, where it is always a charming evening under a full moon. It is an indoor restaurant meant to feel like you are dining outside at an authentic Biergarten during Germany’s Oktoberfest. In the centre of the restaurant is a stage where live music plays periodically throughout the day. The surrounding walls are facades of half-timber homes which immerse guests in a traditional Bavarian village. There is even a full-size, functioning waterwheel which looks like it came straight from the woodcutter’s cottage in Sleeping Beauty. And each of the sixteen German states are represented by their flags hung around the perimeter.

The tables are in a tiered semicircle around the stage on three levels. Each table seats eight guests and guests will be seated with other parties to fill up the tables, in the true communal style of a typical Biergarten.

There are two identical buffet lines to ease the crowds. The buffet starts with a selection of salad. My favourite was the cucumber salad and the beet salad was also quite delicious.

Next were sides such as pickles, cold cut meats, macaroni salad, and potato salad. There is also a rotating soup which was a potato leek when I was there and it was very scrumptious.

A selection of bread and rolls was the next section and I had heard many good things about the pretzel roll and it did not disappoint!

Then comes the hot dishes such as roasted potatoes, sausages with sauerkraut, and schnitzel, which was probably my favourite thing there. There is even a carvery station with pork roast. Biergarten also offers different toppings to go on the meats such as apricot chutney, mustard, and applesauce. My seconds pretty much just consisted of schnitzel covered in applesauce (with another pretzel roll!)

There are plenty of dessert options offered. There are many traditional German desserts like apple strudel, black forest cake, and Bavarian cheesecake. There are also simpler desserts like cookies and fresh fruit.

The live band is very entertaining! They play a variety of instruments such as the accordion, trumpet, cowbells, and, my favourite, the alphorn! There is even a dance floor if you would like to dance along.

The shows are about 25 minutes long and start at: 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, 4:45, 5:55, 7:00, and 8:05 pm.

Prices fluctuate seasonally but you can expect to pay around $40 per adult and $23 per child.

Overall, Biergarten is fun with a great selection of food. The entertainment is engaging, humorous, and memorable. Give this taste of Bavarian tradition a try next time you are visiting World Showcase.

Pin for later!

  1. My husband would love to eat here! We haven’t never been to EPCOT outside of a festival so we are usually full on festival food! I’m pinning this for later!

  2. This is one of my top 5 restaurants in all of Walt Disney World. We love not only the food but the atmosphere as well. Also, I live for spaetzle. LOL
